The Avant CTV was available only in 28″ widescreen format and filled a perceived gap at the bottom of the range. It offered the same high quality picture and sound provided by the VCR and DVD models but with no additional video sources.
It was replaced in 2003 by the introduction of the Beovision 3 28″ which seemed to offer much the same package but rather cheaper. One would however be mistaken if one thought was getting the same set as the Avant CTV was built upon the more expensive chassis , as was the BeoVison 3 32, whereas the BV3-28″ utilised the cheaper MX chassis.
The sound quality of the Avant CTV was every bit as good as its more expensive brethren though one did have to specify the anti reflection coated screen as an extra.
