Ex-CEO - Torben Ballegaard Sørensen
The Man at the Top
Torben Ballegaard Sørensen succeeded Anders Knutsen as CEO of Bang & Olufsen a/s, and although joining the board on May 1st 2001 didn't take full responsibility of the Group until July 1st of the same year.
Mr Ballegaard Sørensen previously held the post of Group Director of LEGO a/s, where he was responsible for New Business Development - including development of new product technologies and alliances, development of own retail outlets and LEGO's new internet based Direct-to-Customer projects.
He joined LEGO in 1996 where he created the new brand LEGO MINDSTORMS, one of the most significant innovations in LEGO's recent history. Earlier Torben B. Sørensen served as CEO of the IT company CCI Europe; a world market leader within advanced newspaper and book publishing systems.
Torben parted company with immediate effect on 10th January 2008 after almost 7 years service and has been replaced by Kalle Hvidt Nielsen.
